Gorgeous mountain plot

If your idea of a getaway means a spot ‘somewhere in the mountains’, offering absolute privacy, peace and tranquillity, and you need to be surrounded by the beauty of unspoilt nature, look no further.

Also see some of the fascinating history of Banghoek – article under the heading ‘Editorials’ on the home page.

PLEASE NOTE: Photos 2 - 9 were taken from the stand - the rest an overview of the 1 000ha Reserve, the vast majority of which is common property.

Detail:

  • Stand: 1,8ha exclusive use (Sectional Title Scheme).
  • Cottage of 162m² can be built (building regulations apply – available on request).
  • No building timeline.

  • Part of the Greater Cederberg Diversity Corridor and Cape Fold Mountains, the 1 000ha reserve is one of the few remaining relatively pristine areas of Fynbos left in the West Coast area and is largely Mountain Fynbos. It boasts a number of rare and endangered species and includes an area of Renosterveld within its borders.

  • While the large species of game that roamed this area freely in the 1700’s can no longer be seen, a wide variety of small indigenous species live on the Reserve undisturbed. Those recorded include Aardwolf, Cape Fox, Bat-eared Fox, Ant Eater, Genet, African Wild Cat, Caracal, Klipspringer, Duiker, Grey Reebok, Cape Hare, Grey Mongoose, Water Mongoose, Porcupine, Striped Polecat, Baboon and the Cape Clawless Otter (also an unconfirmed sighting of a Cape Leopard). An abundance of Birdlife prevails, and yes - the Eagles do fly and breed at Banghoek!
